Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at PMC Med Staff. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners, power injectors, and post-processing equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners, power injectors, and post-processing equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images.
  • Adjust protocols to meet patient needs and critique completed procedures for high diagnostic quality.
  • Perform general radiography exams as needed and maintain a repeat rate at or below the national standard.
  • Communicate delays to patients, explain procedures, and obtain thorough and pertinent patient history.
  • Select the appropriate equipment and follow procedure protocols, specifications, and standards.
  • Evaluate the technical quality of images and record, archive, retrieve, compile, and calculate data.
  • Assist the radiologist during invasive procedures such as biopsies and abscess drainages.
  • Position patients based on anatomy in question and provide accurate measurements and explanations.
  • Acquire complete and appropriate patient history and convey all pertinent information to the radiologist.
  • Observe patient and employee confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Inform Diagnostic Imaging Management of unusual events or variations in normal business or clinical activities.
  • Participate in educational and staff meetings and attend all department meetings.
Requirements
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography.
  • Document at least 20 hours of training and experience in operating CT equipment, radiation physics, and radiation protection.
  • As of September 1st, 2011: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) advanced registry in Computed Tomography (or CT registry eligible).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as an ARRT registered radiologic technologist.
  • Previous experience performing computed tomography procedures.
Essential Technical Skills
  • Ability to effectively operate a computer, associated peripherals, and Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Ability to utilize telephone, fax machine, and electronic messaging systems.
  • Ability to read quickly and accurately to obtain clinical and pertinent information.
  • Ability to operate/utilize imaging equipment in area of hire.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work sitting, walking, and/or standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to do forward reaching, bending, pulling, twisting, lifting, and turning associated with patient transport and equipment handling.
  • Ability to push wheelchairs or stretchers throughout the hospital.
