POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of established protocols, you will conduct precise and effective diagnostic imaging across various general radiology domains. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct high-quality diagnostic imaging after confirming patient identity and physician orders.
  • Gather and document comprehensive patient histories in medical records.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures to ensure their safety.
  • Perform radiographic and related patient care tasks using age-appropriate techniques tailored to the patient's physical capabilities.
  • Ensure timely communication of STAT requests to radiologists.
  • Effectively collaborate with customer service, administrative staff, medical personnel, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment and follow protocols for equipment malfunctions or quality control issues.
  • Utilize ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients, staff, and yourself.
  • Provide procedural information and education to patients and their families prior to examinations.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency by assisting colleagues and adhering to quality assurance and control standards.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems accurately for order verification, schedule viewing, and information transmission to PACS.
  • Assist in training new staff and students.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of exam rooms and equipment.
  • Ensure competency in all assigned areas, including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operational procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduation from a JRCERT Accredited Radiography program.
  • Registration within six months of hire.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, maintaining good standing.
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers from a recognized organization.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires the ability to frequently push or pull objects weighing up to 30 lbs, occasionally lift over 50 lbs with assistance, and frequently lift up to 40 lbs. Employees must be able to perform simple motor skills consistently, including standing and walking, as well as more complex tasks such as positioning patients.

Exposure to ionizing radiation is frequent, and there may be potential exposure to hazardous materials. Employees should be prepared for a dynamic work environment.
