The Progressive Care Unit at our facility is dedicated to delivering personalized, high-quality nursing care to patients with medical-related conditions. This unit caters to individuals requiring an intermediate level of care, bridging the gap between general ward and intensive care. Our specialized team also focuses on peritoneal dialysis, providing enhanced care for patients transitioning between different levels of medical support.

  • A dedicated success coach available around the clock.
  • Regular weekly check-ins to track personal and professional development.
  • Individual assessments to identify growth opportunities.
  • A comprehensive orientation lasting 10 to 12 weeks, complemented by 10 residency days in the first year.

Financial Incentives:

This role is eligible for the Student Loan Repayment Program:

  • Full-time nurses: up to $437.50 per month, with a lifetime maximum benefit of $15,750.
  • Part-time nurses: up to $218.75 per month, with a lifetime maximum benefit of $7,500.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a coach, adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Adjust priorities for patient care based on acuity, preferences, and resource availability.
  • Implement and maintain interventions to ensure continuity of safe and effective patient care.
  • Respond to health risks and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Seek guidance and support when required to ensure safe and independent practice.
  • Comply with hospital and departmental personnel policies.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Document patient information in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required based on department assignment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within the first year of employment.

Work Complexity:

  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be capable of functioning in a high-stress environment.

Experience:

  • New graduates or those with less than one year of RN experience, or RNs transitioning from non-inpatient to acute care settings with limited current experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients.
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking.
  • Must have corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Ability to work under stress and during irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Medium physical demands, including lifting weights of 20 to 50 pounds occasionally.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adhere to standard precautions using personal protective equipment as necessary.
