Job Title: Technician 1

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Technician 1 to join our team at TPRG. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic communication systems, with a focus on VOIP, SIP, computer, and networking systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and service electronic communication systems in an efficient and effective manner to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
  • Communicate system performance to customers and provide technical support as needed.
  • Test and document readings for customer systems.
  • Update customer files and maintain accurate records.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic components.
  • Handle on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis.
  • Train and instruct customers on the proper use of equipment.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Operate test equipment such as Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-meter, and Impedance Meter.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment.
  • Track time sheets, service/installation tickets, and inventory items accurately.
  • Ensure all spare parts, manuals, and keys are safeguarded and signed for at the end of the project.
  • Manage and motivate technicians and serve as onsite representative when the Project Manager is not available.
  • Comply with company and customer safety programs.

Qualifications:

  • A two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1+ years related field experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in procedures, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment/systems.
  • Experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications preferred.
  • Cisco and Microsoft certifications desirable.
  • Ability to install a project from engineering documents with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to manage small to large projects with little supervision.

Accountability:

The Technician 1 will be accountable to the Project Manager. Secondary accountability will be to other management team members, employees, and customers of the company.
