Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Engineering Director, this individual is responsible for performing electrical, mechanical, and physical testing for engineering and laboratory projects, analyzing test data, and maintaining equipment hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews project instructions to determine test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, and technical problems.
  • Conducts tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
  • Provides quarterly test data analysis and reports for laboratory, customer requests, and validation.
  • Maintains and updates applicable Engineering and North American Laboratory Group drives and databases.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks for all laboratory equipment, software, and tools to ensure proper working condition.
  • Responsible for the overall maintenance of the Engineering storage areas and samples retention per ISO Laboratory requirements.
  • Follows all safety protocols per ISO 17025 and alerts engineering staff concerning any potential safety issues.
  • Assists with annual regulatory and verification audits.
  • Facilitates the planning, commissioning, documentation, and training of new equipment installations in the laboratory.
  • Maintains a log of calibrated equipment and ensures calibrations are carried out as per scheduled deadlines.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience with an Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school.
  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree within the Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Experience performing tests in a practical setting, including cable breakdowns, tensile, elongation, crushing, impact, accelerated aging, flame, insulation resistance tests, spectroscopy, brittle point, and oxygen index tests.
Work Environment

This position is full-time on-site reporting to the Florham Park, NJ office.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Computer Skills

Familiarity with Microsoft Office 360 Suite and adaptability to using new software and databases.Compensation
