Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Information Systems Analyst to join our team at West Suburban Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing computer-based laboratory information systems to ensure accurate and efficient data processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and oversee the performance of laboratory information systems to ensure optimal functionality and meet departmental needs.
  • Implement system requirements, including systems analysis, policy and procedure documentation, test plans, and user training.
  • Manage the development and installation of computer or software upgrades, from evaluation to quality control and acceptance.
  • Oversee automated systems installations and computer operations to ensure timely data processing and communication of results.
  • Monitor automated interfaces to ensure accuracy, data flow, and timely turnaround of results.
  • Control data storage and flow to ensure effective data retrieval and report generation systems.
  • Develop software and design modifications to meet reporting needs and investigate system malfunctions.
  • Prepare test plans, coordinate testing, and document results.
  • Act as liaison with vendors and attend vendor training.
  • Participate in integration of network configurations and system servers to ensure design meets system and disaster recovery requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum four years of experience in analysis, maintenance, and implementation of computer-based laboratory information systems.
  • Preferred experience with Altera A-Lab.
  • Bachelor's degree in laboratory science, computer science, information technology, or a closely related field.
