Overview: As a Wound Care Specialist with the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our nation's veterans. This position involves working closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive wound care services, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality treatment and support.

Salary: $73,984 - $106,848 per year

About the Role:

  • Job Summary: The Wound Care RN is responsible for providing expert care to patients with acute and chronic wounds, utilizing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
  • Responsibilities: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care; Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical histories, symptoms, and conditions to identify potential wound care needs; Utilize advanced wound care techniques, such as negative pressure wound therapy and debridement, to promote healing and prevent further damage.
  • Requirements:
    • Education: Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
    • Experience: 2 years of specialized nursing experience equivalent to Nurse I, Level III.
