Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing psychological testing, counseling, and evaluations to defined populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychometric and projective tests, as well as other psychodiagnostic techniques and behavior observations.
  • Provide treatment to adults and/or adolescents and children.
  • Conduct initial interviews with patients, gather and review relevant information, and determine the urgency of their needs.
  • Provide professional interpretations of patients' presentations and recommend courses of therapeutic action.
  • Rend immediate guidance and therapy for patients in crisis or in need of clinical services.
  • Maintain written records of therapy, prepare reports and letters, and communicate with social agencies, schools, relatives, and friends to obtain pertinent information.
  • Provide telephone assessments, counseling, resource information, and referrals.
  • Transmit diagnostic and assessment information to referring professionals through verbal and written reports.
  • Conduct program evaluations to assess the quality of care and cost-effectiveness of clinical procedures.
  • Offer consultation and inservice training to other mental health professionals on clinical issues relevant to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders.
  • May conduct research on human behavior and possible methods for eliminating psychological disorders.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree from an APA-accredited doctorate program with specialization in a field of clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Two or more years of post-graduate experience in a behavioral health setting, or a pre-doctoral internship, post-doctoral internship, or fellowship at Kaiser Permanente.
  • Psiychologist License (California).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship in an APA-approved program.
