Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at SCL Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients, answers phones, takes messages, and provides necessary information while documenting all interactions accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Schedules patient appointments, registers patients, and confirms demographic data on registration systems.
  • Obtains copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on required forms, verifies insurance information, and determines coordination of benefits.
  • Collects patient payments, provides accurate receipts, and posts payments in the system.
  • Maintains department and individual work queues, reports, and prepares medical records for patient appointments.
  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abides by service behavior standards.
Requirements
  • One year of customer service experience involving interactions with customers in person and by phone.
  • Professional manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
Work Environment

This role requires interacting with others, operating computers and office equipment, and remaining sitting or standing for long periods of time. May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies.
