Job Description

The Food Service Aide plays a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our patients, visitors, and staff at AtlantiCare. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve food items in accordance with department procedures and quality standards.
  • Operate a cash register and handle customer transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Stock assigned areas with supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are readily available.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Participate in performance improvement efforts, contributing to the development and implementation of new procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and cooperation, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required.
  • Prior related experience preferred, but not required.
Work Environment:

The Food Service Aide works in a fast-paced environment, with potential exposure to hazards and risks associated with the hospital setting. The role requires the ability to walk, stand, and reach for long periods of time, as well as the ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally lift and move more than 50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination is also required.

The employee must be able to work in adverse conditions, including wet floors, extreme changes in temperature, sharp/dangerous equipment, and hot foods and liquids.
