Fairleigh Dickinson University seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the University Director of Career Development. This key leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction and vision of Career Development at FDU's campuses in New Jersey and Vancouver, Canada.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of professionals, graduate students, and student workers across all campuses to develop and implement career-related programs and activities.
- Develop and manage the budget for career-related initiatives and ensure effective use of resources.
- Serve as the primary administrator of University Career Development platforms, including Handshake, and collaborate with the University webmaster to maintain and update the Career Development website.
- Collaborate with deans, department chairs, senior corporate executives, recruiters, students, alumni, faculty, and staff to achieve common goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers and recent alumni to bring them to campus for recruitment and networking opportunities.
- Master's degree in higher education or a related field.
- At least five years of managerial experience in university career services or a related field.
- Current knowledge of state-of-the-art programs and approaches in career development and academic preparation.
- Excellent human relations and oral and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency, with a preference for Microsoft Office Suite and career-specific technologies like Handshake.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between campuses and visit employers and recent alumni.
- Valid passport for occasional travel to the international campus in Vancouver, Canada.
