The Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in providing operational assistance for the Veterans Experience Office's leading Contact Center. In this capacity, you will guide callers to appropriate resources to resolve inquiries, concerns, and grievances. Calls will come from a diverse range of individuals, including Veterans and their families or representatives.

GTSC Talent Solutions offers front-line customer service roles supporting the Veterans Experience Office at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Currently, our team is working remotely; however, you must be prepared to work onsite as needed.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Comprehend and articulate Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) services or procedures
  • Pose clarifying questions to identify complex or ambiguous requests for VA services and information
  • Accurately document call details and other service requests within an expected timeframe
  • Select suitable VA services to fulfill the specific needs of customers
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with VA personnel, external agencies, and the public
  • Utilize a multi-screen computer system, including a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application
  • Uphold confidentiality and privacy of callers
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a customer service setting
  • Ability to connect to High-Speed Internet (no Wi-Fi) with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds
  • Capable of providing a work-from-home environment that is ergonomically sound, conducive to taking customer calls, quiet, and free from distractions
  • Ability to perform under pressure, including managing escalating or challenging calls calmly and effectively
  • Capability to think critically and offer additional solutions to issues
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with military and veteran community programs is advantageous
  • U.S. Military Veterans or family members of Veterans will receive additional consideration
  • Ability to pass a federal NACI background check; must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
