Position Summary

Waypoint's Street Outreach Program, operating from our Youth Drop-In Center, seeks a dedicated, enthusiastic, and innovative individual to fulfill a vital role. You will serve as a positive influence for at-risk youth, bringing hope and inspiration to those in need. Your presence can illuminate the path to a brighter future.

(Availability during afternoons and weekends is preferred)

In this position, you will be a key member of a forward-thinking team that includes professionals such as the Runaway and Homeless Youth Social Worker and the Street Outreach Case Manager. We prioritize team dynamics and cohesion, believing that ending youth homelessness is achievable. The Drop-In Center/Outreach Staff will facilitate programming between the Drop-In Center and Shelter programs, ensuring a safe environment for all participants. We are committed to fostering physical, mental, and emotional safety through unconditional positive regard. Utilizing harm reduction strategies and positive youth development principles, you will carry out your responsibilities effectively.

This is a Full-Time role requiring a flexible schedule, including potential evening and weekend shifts.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth is preferred
  • Lived experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in outreach, sexual assault prevention, and treatment strategies is preferred
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, with no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
  • Valid Driver's License, a safe driving record, reliable transportation, and liability coverage of at least 50,000/100,000
