Role Summary:
The Senior Field Service Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting our Automation Solutions within the Semiconductor and Life Sciences Lab sectors. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and customer engagement, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intricate customer support tasks, including the installation, modification, repair, and preventive maintenance of Brooks' systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues, implementing corrective measures while adhering to established policies and quality standards.
  • May serve as the Local / Shift / Site Lead, guiding other Service Engineers and coordinating installation support as necessary.
  • Perform installation, upgrades, and maintenance on both software and hardware, ensuring compliance with Brooks Automation's protocols.
  • Engage with customers to guarantee satisfaction with equipment performance and service levels, actively participating in operational meetings.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following all safety protocols and policies.
  • Achieve certification on equipment and systems, submitting required reports on support activities.
  • Adapt to changing priorities, including urgent escalations, while managing organizational and administrative tasks.
  • Provide training to both Brooks and customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Mentor junior Service Engineers, fostering their professional development.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement, documenting new processes and enhancements.
  • Create and present reports, project plans, and training materials as needed.
  • May require work in a Clean Room environment, adhering to specific customer requirements.
  • Work schedules will align with customer needs, requiring flexibility for various shifts and on-call assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical or electronics technical support and repair.
  • Familiarity with lasers and sensing devices in robotic applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting microelectronics schematics and digital circuits.
  • Proficient in PC and operating systems, including Windows and DOS.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
