Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Impact Specialist to join our team at Norfolk Southern. This role will be responsible for implementing our employee-facing philanthropy strategy, enhancing inclusion and community engagement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute company-wide giving programs and initiatives, including managing giving systems, processes, and payments, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to foster strong community partnerships.
  • Manage multiple scholarship programs for NS employees and community members, ensuring compliance with IRS tax requirements and NS documentation.
  • Support the implementation of various yearly engagement campaigns, such as Giving November, and partner with employee resource groups to develop initiatives that advance inclusion.
  • Oversee nonprofit sponsorships and ensure employee participation, tracking and analyzing employee giving metrics to inform future strategies.
  • Partner with internal and external communications teams to build Norfolk Southern's brand as a responsible corporate citizen, continuously evaluating current programs and developing unique opportunities to increase employee contributions.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to think outside the box and set data-driven targets.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and being detail-oriented.
  • Ability to be agile and stay focused under shifting circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 0-1 years of experience in a related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and experience using CSR platforms.
Work Environment

This role will be based in an office environment with occasional weekend work and 0-2 days of travel per month.
