Job Overview

Guidewire, Inc is a Non-Profit Human Service Agency dedicated to providing essential residential and day support services to adults with developmental disabilities across Hampden & Berkshire counties. We are currently in search of a meticulous Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist to enhance our Finance team. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical and communication abilities, along with a strong capacity to organize and prioritize tasks effectively. This position is full-time, in-office, non-exempt, and reports directly to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process attendance records for monthly billing, which involves various funding sources and billing methods. Maintain effective communication with counterparts at funding sources.
  • Organize and manage contract files and associated documentation.
  • Oversee and reconcile all cash receipts, ensuring alignment between the A/R Module and billing.
  • Manage DTA food stamp eligibility and process monthly EBT funding transfers with accurate accounting.
  • Maintain records and adhere to accounting protocols for Non-Representative Payee funds.
  • Engage with guardians and representative payees regarding monthly care charges and reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with Funds Management Plans.
  • Prepare bank transfer advices for the Finance Director.
  • Reconcile the Organizational Representative Payee Bank Account.
  • Reconcile Asset and Liability General Ledger accounts.
  • Support and coordinate general accounting tasks within the Finance Department.
  • Assist in reconciling credit card transactions within our Expense Management Module.
  • Contribute to the annual financial audit process.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong communication skills
