Payroll Specialist

Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll records, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately processing and managing the organization's weekly payroll, ensuring timely payments to all employees (700+ individuals) in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating employee payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Additionally, you will address and resolve any payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related inquiries from staff members promptly and professionally. You will also prepare reports related to payroll activities, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages. You will collaborate closely with the HR department to ensure seamless integration and accuracy of payroll and benefits data. You will also collaborate with management staff to assist in staff training in timecard entry, timecard adjustments, and time off requests. You will stay current on changes in payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements to advise and implement necessary updates or modifications. You will conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll accounts to verify accuracy and integrity of financial records. You will also assist in the preparation and submission of statutory filings and other periodic reporting as required by law. Hard Skills: At least 1+ year of payroll experience. Ability to take on the payroll function for the organization. Soft Skills: Attention to detail. Strong communication skills. Problem-solving abilities. Work Site: This is a fully on-site position in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Work Environment: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm - IN PERSON.
