Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Credentialing Specialist to join our team. As a Credentialing Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing initial MPLT Healthcare applications for locum tenens physicians, re-credentialing existing physicians, and ensuring timely and accurate submission of hospital privileging applications. You will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the credentialing progress of each physician.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process initial MPLT Healthcare applications for locum tenens physicians, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Re-credential existing physicians, verifying their credentials and ensuring they meet the necessary requirements.
- Primary source verification of physician backgrounds, contacting hospitals, licensing boards, medical schools, and other relevant institutions to obtain necessary information.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of hospital privileging applications for each physician, working closely with clients and medical staff departments to meet deadlines.
- Monitor and report on the credentialing progress of each physician, identifying any issues or concerns and taking corrective action as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least two years of experience with medical credentialing processes, with locums experience a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with a CRM/ATS database.
- The ability to create reports, analyze data, and make recommendations.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
- The ability to communicate and discuss information in a professional and sensitive manner with internal and external employees and other outside contacts.
- A self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and make independent judgments and decisions within established guidelines.
- The ability to organize and prioritize the workload while maintaining the ability to quickly pivot in order to meet necessary deadlines.
