Job Summary

The Las Palmas Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on various aspects of patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in patient care.
Requirements
  • Texas or Compact State Nursing License – RN required.
  • BCLS Certification.
  • NRP Certification (Chapters 1-9) within 3 months of hire or immediately with Newborn, Labor and Delivery/Antepartum experience.
  • ACLS Certification within 6 months of hire or immediately if required at previous employer.
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring through AWHONN within 6 months from finish of floor orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Perinatal and neonatal healthcare experience.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. course certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Lactation Educator or Consultant.
  • AWHONN member.
