Position Summary

This role collaborates closely with Sales Account Representatives to implement service strategies within key Company accounts. The technician is responsible for fulfilling agreed-upon contractual obligations and delivering effective problem-solving assistance to clients. This position plays a crucial role in initiating new applications for existing customers and converting competitively-held accounts to the Company. The technician will actively install, maintain, and calibrate chemical feed systems and process monitoring instruments across various customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures relevant to the position; engage in necessary safety training; demonstrate commitment to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) principles; advocate for safety when required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management that align with the expected scope of this role.
  • Provide ongoing service support to Sales Account Representatives in strategic accounts to implement customer system assurance plans.
  • Assist Sales Account Representatives with the initiation of new applications for both existing and new clients.
  • Deliver technical assistance to clients, identifying and addressing their challenges, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Collect customer samples for analytical purposes.
  • Conduct required chemical assessments, document and report findings, and manage product inventories at designated customer accounts.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain chemical feed systems and process monitoring instruments at assigned customer locations.
  • Service pump systems and identify production-related issues.
  • Transport chemicals to customer sites.
  • Support Research and Development by conveying field requirements and contributing ideas for technological advancements.
  • Draft and review technically sound recommendations.
  • Coordinate internal resources essential for business support.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.

Experience Requirements

  • 25% overnight travel is necessary to support assigned customer accounts.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • A valid Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record are required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is mandatory.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of successful experience in technical service or field sales support.
  • Experience in the water treatment or specialty chemical sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn internal business systems, are preferred.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • An Associate Degree or Trade School Certification is preferred.
