Job Title: STEPS Facility Maintenance Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facility Maintenance Associate to join our team at the University of Kentucky's Division of Laboratory Animal Resources.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading activities in the cage wash area, ensuring the completion of all cage wash activities, and maintaining efficient organization and flow of supplies and equipment. They will also be responsible for cleaning and sterilizing cages, equipment, and rooms, as well as preparing refuse for disposal or incineration.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead activities in the cage wash area and ensure completion of all cage wash activities.
  • Clean and sterilize cages, equipment, and rooms, including floor maintenance.
  • Complete more complex operations, including ongoing maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain efficient organization and flow of supplies and equipment through the cage wash area.
  • Prepare refuse for disposal or incineration.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No prior experience required, but ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
