Your Role

Oversees maintenance teams in the installation, repair, and preventive upkeep of machinery utilized throughout the facility, including utilities and powerhouse equipment. Manages maintenance processes to minimize mechanical downtime and ensure optimal product flow and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guides teams of Maintenance Technicians and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance as well as equipment repairs.
  • Accountable for the development, execution, and daily oversight of maintenance systems, processes, and documentation related to efficient and high-performing manufacturing operations (including Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOPs, Safety, etc.).
  • Ensures timely scheduling of maintenance tasks and collaborates closely with Production to coordinate and complete equipment and facility repairs.
  • Establishes and/or maintains Key Performance Indicators to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the maintenance function (including supplier performance, contractor performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.).
  • Offers long-term solutions and daily support to all operational teams facing troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failure challenges.
  • Educates employees on proper work methods and safety protocols.
  • Ensures compliance with USDA regulations during task completion.
  • Keeps accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
  • Provides regular updates to the maintenance management team.
  • In the absence of key personnel, the employee's supervisor or a qualified designee is responsible for completing or delegating all required tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in Engineering or a related field, along with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a leadership role, providing training, coaching, or mentoring to less experienced staff or managing a process or project.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boilers, compressed air systems, and mechanical and electrical fields (e.g., PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering) is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory, and scheduling software is preferred.
  • Strong leadership abilities (including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision-making, empowerment, and delegation) are preferred.
  • Able to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts for complex process issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while fostering strong working relationships and a positive work atmosphere.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and direction to employees within the Maintenance Department.
  • Implements supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.

  • Office and plant environment. The plant setting may include wet or humid conditions (not weather-related), extreme cold and heat (not weather-related), proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate but can be loud in production areas.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate effectively.

$67,000 - $100,500.00
