Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) analyses and the creation of detailed technical documentation for a variety of initiatives, including drainage master plans, detention and retention systems, and comprehensive flood management strategies.
  • Manage projects of varying scales, ensuring adherence to timelines, monitoring budgets, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Work autonomously while leading teams of engineers and analysts to achieve project goals.
  • Exhibit strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills, while also providing guidance and support to junior team members.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in stormwater management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Possession of a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or the capability to secure one within a six-month timeframe.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ICM, ArcGIS Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and/or experience in floodplain management practices.
  • Experience in drafting design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for stormwater initiatives.
  • Knowledge of streambank stabilization techniques, channel restoration practices, and FEMA flood study methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the FEMA RiskMap Program and flood risk assessment processes.
