Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Stamping Line Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Tesla. As a key member of our stamping line design and installation team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and installing new manufacturing lines for stamping.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and installation of stamping equipment, including tandem press, blanking, transfer, scrap system, hot stamping, post-processing, and CNC.
  • Support equipment design needs and administrative tasks, such as RFQ creation, throughout multiple project phases.
  • Provide clear direction and correlate feedback from suppliers to ensure equipment quality and performance targets are met.
  • Analyze data to develop, troubleshoot, and improve various processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop engineering designs by validating key requirements such as cycle time, layout, and tooling.
  • Make detailed studies and possess excellent problem-solving skills to mitigate any potential risk or design flaw.
  • Develop and execute detailed project timelines, open items, risks, and report out to management and executives.
  • Facilitate equipment trials at both vendor sites and Tesla factories for final acceptance and handover to production teams.
  • Provide guidance to engineering technicians, interns, and various team members as necessary.
  • Coordinate and work on activities with other cross-functional teams such as Mechanical Design, Quality Engineering, and Process Engineering teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other related discipline, minimum 3 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with stamping lines and automation.
  • Experience with stamping press line foundations and utilities is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, CATIA, and SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Excellent project and vendor management skills.
  • Good understanding of equipment safety and safety compliance is a plus.
  • Organized and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems with systematic and structured approach.
  • High level of English proficiency.
