Contract Manager Position

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on a variety of contracts, from capture through proposal, contract award, and all phases of contract administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contracts across the spectrum of actions associated with providing supplies and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for new business efforts and/or modifications to existing contracts.
  • Provide contractual recommendations, conduct risk assessments and create mitigation plans, and propose alternative approaches to contract execution through contract language revisions.
  • Coordinate proposal generation and submission, collaborate with other functional areas to investigate and reconcile significant contract changes that frequently impact cost, schedule, technical specifications, etc.
  • Collaborate with associated functional organizations and customers to ensure conformance with contractual obligations, remain cognizant of potential or existing problem areas, and implement required corrective actions.
  • Develop and apply advanced contractual concepts, techniques, and standards to assigned duties.
  • Develop and apply solutions to complex problems which require a high degree of ingenuity, contractual creativity, and innovation.
  • Continuously evaluate and oversee contract performance.
  • Create and maintain enduring relationships with internal and external customers to facilitate timely and transparent communications.
  • Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
Requirements
  • General Business and/or Contracts experience.
  • Analytical thinking, risk analysis, and experience problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Ability/willingness to travel as needed.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with USG (FAR/DFARS) in all aspects of the contract life cycle including proposals, administration, and close-out.
  • Experience with Multiple USG Contract Types (FFP, FPIF, CPIF, CPFF).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to clearly recognize risk elements in business transactions, providing governance to the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make effective presentations to senior leadership.
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced team environment and work well under pressure.
  • Possess effective relationship-building skills with peers, leadership and customers.
  • Experience with the Aero Proposal Tool Suite (APTS).
