Senior Care Technician

Job SummaryWe are seeking a Care/Medication Technician to join our team at Greenwood Place. The successful candidate will provide hands-on care and support to residents, maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
Responsibilities- Provide physical and emotional support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities.
- Observe and report changes in resident condition, including skin, behavior, and dietary needs.
- Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells.
- Assist with continence management and maintain cleanliness of resident suites and community restrooms.
- Prepare and serve meals, and assist with food service as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Practice good standard care precautions, including cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
- Engage residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, guests, family members, and team members.
- Review resident service plans to learn pertinent information about residents.
- Assist with medication administration, using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
- Document and initial medication administration records, including refusal or missed doses.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication.
- Report resident concerns to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator.
- Restock medication carts and maintain the Medication Room, med charts, and treatment carts.
- Count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
- Participate in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.
- Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
- High School diploma/GED.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- First Aid Certification preferred.
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
