Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Jefferson Apartment Group is a leading provider of multifamily and mixed-use real estate services. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Jefferson Marketplace, a luxury apartment community in Northwest Washington, DC.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing superior care and customer service to our residents by performing quality, timely, and right-the-first-time responses to service requests. This includes replacing filters and cleaning air conditioning vents, assisting maintenance staff with service requests, handling on-call duties, and performing other preventative maintenance tasks.

Essential Functions:
  • Replaces filters and cleans air conditioning vents in vacant apartments and occupied units, in addition to other preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assists maintenance staff with service requests.
  • Handles on-call duties whenever needed.
  • Replaces breezeway/hallway light bulbs as needed.
  • Assists with apartment make-readies.
  • Assists in the distribution of flyers and other materials.
  • Assists with janitorial responsibilities and maintaining overall cleanliness of the community.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • Availability to be on call for emergencies on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Meet the physical demands to perform the duties of the position to include mobility required to move about the property, climb stairs, lift appliances and tools, stretch, bend, kneel, ability to hear occasional loud noises, among others.
Education and Experience:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • General knowledge of maintenance tools and job tasks.

While performing the duties of this job, employee is required to walk frequently; sit frequently; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls frequently; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear and communicate with speech clarity continually; climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, and bend occasionally. Ability to lift 50 -100 pounds.

Setting typical of a business office. This is an in-office position.
