LOCATION: This is an on-site position.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Digital NEST is a workforce development center dedicated to empowering youth from working-class and farmworker backgrounds by equipping them with essential technical and professional skills. As we embark on an exciting growth journey, we aim to expand our reach across various communities in Northern California.

The Member Support Specialist will report directly to the Center Director and collaborate with the leadership team to foster a positive membership experience and achieve programmatic and marketing goals. The primary objective is to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that all visitors and program participants are accurately checked in upon arrival.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Member Engagement (40%):

  • Addressing inquiries from Members.
  • Greeting Members and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, representing Digital NEST and creating a safe environment.
  • Encouraging Member participation in activities and events through verbal and electronic communication.
  • Assisting with social media management and communications.
  • Conducting tours for prospective Members as needed.
  • Executing established processes for finalizing memberships.
  • Engaging in self-development to stay updated on Member engagement and customer service practices.

Operations (35%):

  • Supporting the Center Manager with room and space setups for rentals.
  • Carrying out facility opening and closing procedures at the start and end of each shift.
  • Assisting program staff with event space preparations.
  • Managing the center's calendars for room reservations and programming.
  • Ensuring the center is clean, safe, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Monitoring Member usage of the facility.
  • Identifying and reporting concerns to appropriate staff promptly.
  • Assisting with purchase orders for supplies and essential items.
  • Collaborating with the Center Manager to contact vendors and service providers.

Front Desk Reception (25%):

  • Answering phone calls and performing various clerical tasks.
  • Tracking and completing tasks using project management tools.
  • Participating in required departmental and organizational meetings.
  • Keeping program and event materials up-to-date for Member access.
  • Ensuring all Members check in and out properly.
  • Contributing to the Monthly Programs Update Report through data entry and tracking attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Applications, and Customer Relationship Management platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with young adults.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Commitment to the mission of Digital NEST and adherence to the organization's core values.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, racial, gender, and immigration issues.
  • Ability to support individuals from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQIA communities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
  • Physical capability to perform administrative tasks and lift objects up to 35 pounds.
