2. Design and implement a comprehensive training and orientation program for volunteers.

3. Recruit, train, and select volunteers through multiple recruitment initiatives throughout the year.

4. Assess the need for volunteer services in collaboration with patients, families, and the hospice team.

5. Oversee and evaluate volunteer performance effectively and promptly.

6. Maintain accurate monthly reporting statistics.

7. Keep up-to-date personnel records.

8. Organize support and educational meetings for volunteers.

9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.

10. Provide information about volunteer services to community organizations and individuals.

11. Engage actively in quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives.

12. Undertake additional related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree in human services is preferred.

2. At least two years of experience in a healthcare environment; hospice or volunteer experience is a plus.

3. Proven ability to supervise, coordinate, and assess volunteer services.

4. Familiarity with hospice philosophy.

5. Skills in organizing and developing volunteer personnel to meet both patient and organizational needs.

6. Capacity to manage a group of volunteers effectively.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. A background in healthcare, particularly in hospice or long-term care, is preferred.

2. Experience in healthcare coordination is essential.

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
