About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Energetics and Propulsion Department in Tucson, Arizona. As a Senior Engineer - Fuzing, you will be responsible for developing advanced technologies and concepts for fuzing devices, controllers, software, mechanical, and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate fuzing devices and systems for missile and space applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop fuzing devices and systems
  • Work with subcontractors to design and manufacture fuzing devices
  • Manage fuzing device development projects and propulsion subcontracts
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field, and 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience
  • 5 years or more of experience in fuzing, one-shot, or engineering technology and/or engineering design
  • Experience with fuzing devices design, manufacturing, testing, safety certification, and/or compliance
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
  • Seven years or more of directly related experience in fuzing devices and their applications
  • Systems knowledge to assure full development of fuzing device requirements and dissemination and flow down to subcomponent levels
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines
