Job Summary

The Senior Process Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for greenfield, retrofit, and upgrade projects in the mining industry. The role involves partnering with project teams throughout the design and construction process, adapting process plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of process engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the process engineering services industry. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform process design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for process-related activities on the mine site.
  • Design process components for project needs and requirements.
  • Apply strong knowledge of commonly used process engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of mining process facilities.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Chemical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Masters degree in Chemical Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
  • 7 years of mineral process engineering experience.
  • PE registration or the ability to obtain registration within 1 year preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and methods used in complete metallurgical and processing analyses.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong computer skills include process simulation software.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
