Overview

The Pipeline Materials Manager is responsible for assisting in the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of materials necessary for pipeline construction projects. This role ensures that all materials are sourced and delivered on time to support project schedules.

The Pipeline Materials Coordinator will collaborate with various departments, including engineering, construction, and project management to optimize material flow and support operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Support:
    • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand material requirements for upcoming projects.
    • Develop materials estimates and ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets.
    • Provide regular updates on material availability and potential supply chain risks to project teams.
  • Procurement and Supplier Management:
    • Enter requisitions to start the sourcing process for materials or contact suppliers directly for small-value procurements.
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
    • Negotiate agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
    • Maintain relationships with key suppliers and resolve any issues related to material quality or delivery.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee the inventory management system to track material usage, stock levels, and reorder points.
    • Ensure accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to verify stock levels.
    • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste, reduce costs, and prevent stockouts.
  • Logistics and Distribution:
    • Coordinate the transportation and delivery of materials to various project sites.
    • Work with logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution.
    • Monitor and manage the performance of logistics partners to ensure compliance with delivery schedules and quality standards.
  • Cost Management:
    • Prepare and manage the material budget, ensuring alignment with overall project budgets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the energy or construction industry.
  • Knowledge of pipeline materials and construction processes.
  • Knowledge of basic project management processes.
