Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our 3rd shift team at Adhesives Research. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our coating processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of production tasks, including setting up equipment, adjusting and operating equipment, and inspecting and testing products.
  • Accurately perform work assignments and computer transactions, including inventory adjustments and calculations.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform any of the various operations within the department.
  • Perform visual inspection of all materials used and produced.
  • Perform periodic preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain work flow and ensure use of proper materials and tools.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, notifying lead operator and/or supervisor of unsafe practices, conditions, or acts.
  • Achieve quality and throughput goals.
  • Perform work according to Standard Procedures and Work Instructions (SPARs and WIs), and seek assistance in resolving problems not covered by procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with other associates, lead operators, and supervisors, while maintaining the self-confidence and self-esteem of others.
  • Relay information to the next shift, and voluntarily assist other associates to prevent problems from occurring.
  • Complete required verifications and paperwork/documentation, accurately and neatly.
  • Participate in training and assist with training, where applicable.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the development of new products, processes, and equipment.
  • Participate in problem-solving and take initiative to make changes through change control procedures.
  • Responsible for following all relevant regulations and company procedures.
  • Responsible for following all applicable waste handling procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and previous production experience is highly desirable (preferably in web handling, such as paper or fabric manufacturing, printing, coating, etc.).
  • Uses procedures and skills, which require considerable training, to carry out assignments.
  • Operators work per instructions (verbal and written) and consult with lead operator and/or supervisor as needed on matters not specifically covered by instructions.
  • Conforms to Company policies and procedures, Quality Systems, etc.
  • Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, and irritant chemicals.
  • Physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities should be expected.
  • Recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (objects pounds with lift assist).
