Senior Software Engineer - I - Security Detections

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Sumo Logic. As a key member of our Security Detections unit, you will play a crucial role in building a cutting-edge data platform that powers the analytics and investigations in Security Operation Centers of large enterprises.

Our cloud-native, multi-tenant platform is designed to handle massive amounts of security-relevant data from various sources. You will be responsible for building, improving, and scaling stream processing services, writing and reviewing code, providing feedback on standards, collaborating on major feature designs, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining stream processing services to ensure seamless data flow and accuracy.
  • Writing and reviewing code to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Providing feedback on coding standards and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement major features and enhancements.
  • Monitoring production systems and responding to incidents to ensure minimal downtime and maximum uptime.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in cybersecurity.
  • Experience with data systems and working with large datasets to drive business insights and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure to design and deploy scalable and secure solutions.
  • Experience with technologies such as Kafka, RocksDB, ElasticSearch, Postgres, Spark, and HBase to build high-performance data processing systems.
  • Proficiency in Scala is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field to demonstrate a strong foundation in software engineering and computer science principles.
