Role Summary:

The selected candidate will collaborate with the Department of Human Services on the Child Support Application, providing essential services that include:

  • Conducting regular health assessments and analyses on production platforms to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Creating solutions for enterprise platform metrics, alerts, and monitoring tools to enhance platform and business efficiency.
  • Managing and tracking tickets for production issues, scheduled changes, and unscheduled requests.
  • Providing leadership for the rapid resolution of critical production system issues affecting global operations.
  • Coordinating system updates and changes, contributing to break/fix implementations, and managing documentation throughout the system lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications utilizing Java technologies, including J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Oracle.
  • Create APIs and RESTful services to facilitate integration between diverse systems and components.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement front-end functionalities using Angular and modern web technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, to develop responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Develop back-end features, including data models, business logic, and database interactions, employing Java technologies and best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve software defects and production issues promptly.
  • Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback to junior developers.
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior developers as needed.
  • Continuously enhance software development processes to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java software development with full-stack capabilities.
  • Strong expertise in Java technologies, including J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly Oracle.
  • Experience in developing APIs and RESTful services using Java technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, coding standards, and version control systems.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and learn new skills rapidly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in performance optimization and tuning of Java applications.
  • Familiarity with additional front-end technologies, such as React.
  • Understanding of various API standards, including GraphQL or SOAP.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
