We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Experience Representative to join our Surgical Unit team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a key member of our front desk team, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for all who interact with our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Encounter Management:
- Deliver outstanding customer service that supports unit operations and enhances the patient experience
- Collaborate with referring providers and practices to ensure seamless communication and care coordination
- Obtain necessary authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules, ensuring efficient and effective operations
- Schedule patients and support the patient encounter process
- Check In / Check Out:
- Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors with a warm and welcoming smile
- Monitor daily schedules and coordinate flow with clinicians and supervisors to ensure smooth operations
- Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing accurate records of transactions in hospital systems
- Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling to resolve any issues or concerns
- Administrative:
- Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate calls for emergency services as needed
- Provide routine clerical support to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Administer support for Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers, ensuring seamless transitions for patients and families
- Reconcile patient charts during admissions and discharges, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
- Update and reconcile the Patient Monitoring System upon admission, discharge, and transfer, ensuring accurate and timely information
- A high school level of education, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Prior customer service or administrative experience, with a strong track record of delivering exceptional service
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with empathy and compassion in difficult interpersonal situations
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies, building strong relationships and partnerships
