About the Role
The Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary Rehabilitation position at Nuvance Health is responsible for facilitating the training of patients with pulmonary disease in an outpatient setting. This role is a key part of our team's efforts to provide high-quality patient care and improve health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead pulmonary rehab program education and exercise classes, either group or one-on-one, two times per week for six weeks
- Oversee the alumni maintenance exercise program, offered three times per week
- Provide airway clearance sessions on an as-needed basis, per physician order
- Administer 6-Minute Walk Tests to assess patient progress
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain accurate records
- Perform other duties as assigned by Department leadership
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or related field
- Minimum of three years of experience in respiratory care or a related field
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- State of Connecticut license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- BLS certification for healthcare providers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills required
- Some occupational risk and exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste
- Medium to heavy physical effort, with potential to exert up to 35 pounds of force
