Pulmonary Rehabilitation Therapist Job Summary

At Danbury Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Pulmonary Rehabilitation team. As a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients with pulmonary disease manage their condition and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide pulmonary rehabilitation program education and exercise classes to patients with chronic lung disease.
  • Oversee the alumni maintenance exercise program and provide airway clearance sessions as needed.
  • Perform 6 Minute Walk Tests and maintain accurate records.
  • Fulfill all compliance and database responsibilities related to this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Department leadership.


Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • State of Connecticut license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Working Conditions:
  • Medium to heavy physical effort required.
  • Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
