Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our propulsion team, you will be responsible for driving rocket engine test operations at Edwards Airforce Base to meet our launch vehicle program requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with test planning and execution, risk identification and mitigation, and hardware integration for test campaigns.
  • Contribute to engine test operations, including post-test inspections, data review, and engine performance analysis.
  • Work on-site at test facilities at Edwards Airforce Base, collaborating with our team to ensure safe and repeatable spaceflight.
  • Apply your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, or physics desired).
  • 8+ years experience in a testing environment, with experience in executing test procedures and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently, with strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. degree or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering with experimental lab experience.
  • 8+ years experience in propulsion test, with experience designing, fabricating, or operating fluid systems.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, including pressure transducers, thermocouples, silicon diodes, resistance temperature detectors, and accelerometers.
  • Operational understanding of engines and engine sub-components, such as turbopumps, combustion devices, valves, and other fluid components.
