Key Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer within the Engines Design Office, you will lead a passionate team of contributors and experts supporting the BE-7 engine Test Integrated Product Team (IPT).

In this role, you will help manage the successful execution of engine testing, including test plans, execution, and reports/acceptance data packages.

You will also manage engineering change initiatives, help address non-conformances, coordinate flight rationale and issue resolution, and serve as the focal for the Test team across other BE-7 IPTs.

Additionally, you will help define and refine best practices for engine integration and test to increase the efficiency of our project execution and test operation processes.

Requirements
  • Passion for Blue Origin's mission: Millions of people living and working in space
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in General Rocket or Combustion Engine hardware fabrication, precision assembly, and testing using a variety of methods, techniques, and materials
  • Experience in serving as a Project Engineer or Project Manager
  • An engine test background, i.e., been part of or leading an engine test team
  • Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills
  • Strong knack for troubleshooting and quick thinking to keep the project moving forward
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
  • Working knowledge of configuration management principles and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. Degree in Engineering
  • Experience with large rocket engine testing and test facilities
  • Demonstrated some technical understanding of rocket engines and test facilities
  • Experience implementing, customizing or improving configuration management systems in a development engineering environment
  • Experience leading a small technical team
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or other GANTT-style project management tools
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
