Senior Controls and Software Engineer

Babcock & Wilcox is seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls and Software Engineer to join our team.
This role will be responsible for a wide range of product support roles, including controls project development, configuration, installation, startup, and troubleshooting on various B&W products within the utility, pulp and paper, and industrial markets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Development, configuration, testing, startup, and troubleshooting of control systems composed of PLC's, AC/DC drives, Servo Drives, HMI screens, camera systems, electrical circuits, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Maintaining existing controls products as well as developing new products and features.
- Developing and delivering technical training to customers.
- Providing drafting support using AutoCAD and Inventor.
This position requires up to 5% travel and working both independently and in a team environment within B&W and at customer sites.
This role provides great job variety, supporting a wide array of controls products and mechanical systems within several industries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEE/BSEET) preferred.
- A highly motivated, self-directed, team-oriented, and trustworthy person.
- Ability to lead hands-on troubleshooting for installation and startup activities.
- Ability to work and communicate with all members of a project team.
- Ability to accept technical direction and coaching from senior engineers and managers.
- Excellent computer skills, analytical abilities, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer relationship skills.
- AutoCAD and PLC experience a plus.
