Service Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager to lead our Service Department at Mercedes-Benz of Loveland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of our service department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all service department staff.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that the daily inventory of technician's time is consistently sold to service customers.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Work with the General Manager to prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department, maintain reporting systems required by general management and the factory, and monitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveys.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that customers' service files are up-to-date and readily available for reference, handle customer complaints immediately, and establish and maintain 24-hour follow-up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with the service experience.
  • Quality and Safety: Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required, maintain high-quality service repairs, and minimize comebacks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Service Advisor.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Service Manager or Service Director, preferably with Mercedes-Benz.
