LPN - Otolaryngology Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Otolaryngology department, you will provide primary clinical support to our providers, patients, and their families to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions. You will follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing of results in the medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care. You will promote a clean environment and meet the qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age ranges on your assigned clinical area.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data for the provider, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
- Assist the provider in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed by the provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Execute and document ongoing patient communication, as directed by the provider, prioritize communication to the provider, respond to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patient needs.
- Administer medications and vaccines including intradermal and skin testing under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice.
- Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensure required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.
