Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and executes goals and objectives for the volunteer program that align with the organization's mission and values.
  • Oversees the Volunteer Program CRM system and provides training to staff on its functionality.
  • Conducts continuous assessments of the programs and services provided by volunteers, implementing enhancements as necessary.
  • Manages data collection and reporting for the Volunteer Program, sharing insights with relevant staff members.
  • Ensures adherence to volunteer data requirements set by various funding organizations concerning the management and tracking of volunteers.
  • Facilitates the distribution and collection of satisfaction surveys related to services provided.
  • Leads the onboarding and training processes for new volunteers.
  • Engages with volunteers to enhance their overall experience.
  • Directs all communication efforts related to volunteers.
  • Develops and refines systems and procedures for volunteer assignments, including role descriptions and schedules.
  • Identifies needs and opportunities for volunteer involvement in collaboration with other staff to improve service delivery.
  • Creates and maintains calendars for volunteer activities and scheduling across all program areas.
  • Collaborates with staff to ensure a safe and positive environment for volunteers.
  • Organizes on-site volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups.
  • Plans and executes recognition activities to honor the contributions of volunteers.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with community organizations, including educational institutions, agencies, and corporate partners.
  • Promotes the volunteer program within the community to garner support for both the program and the organization.
  • Conducts volunteer recruitment and training, including the development of marketing and training materials.
  • Represents the organization at various community events and speaking engagements.
  • Creates and updates volunteer agreements, ensuring volunteers acknowledge their understanding.
  • Assists with event planning and coordination for special initiatives.
  • Stays informed about current trends and resources related to volunteerism.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years in volunteer program management or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentations.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule, including weekends as needed.
  • Event planning experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge in areas such as substance abuse and mental health is beneficial.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator with proficiency in English and various communication tools.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Skilled in data analysis and report preparation.
