Position Summary:
This role is pivotal in developing, implementing, and maintaining both internal and external safety programs. The Safety Operations Leader will cultivate a culture of behavior-based safety to prevent accidents and mitigate risks at client sites. This includes establishing site-specific safety metrics aligned with corporate objectives and championing initiatives to improve safety performance.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Prioritize safety by adhering to company and client worksite policies.
2. Collaborate daily with Site Leadership and Safety Coordinators to promote safe work practices and a culture of safety awareness, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
3. Develop and enhance safety training programs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to meet occupational safety and health regulations.
4. Provide training and guidance to Safety Coordinators and employees, maintaining comprehensive training records.
5. Foster a safety culture through employee engagement, communication, collaboration, and mentorship.
6. Act as the site safety champion, conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective measures to achieve safety targets.
7. Oversee safety inspection and auditing programs, analyzing data for continuous improvement.
8. Manage safety information on third-party databases as required by clients.
9. Ensure compliance with safety data sheets (SDS), emergency planning, and hazardous waste regulations.
10. Maintain safety documentation for corporate and field audits to verify compliance and performance.
11. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean practices across the site.
12. Establish and communicate safety expectations, goals, and metrics, measuring performance to identify improvement opportunities.
13. Lead the site Safety Committee and exemplify exemplary safety behavior.
14. Coordinate safety orientation for new employees and contractors.
15. Investigate accidents and injuries, collaborating with Human Resources on necessary screenings.

Travel Requirements:
This position typically requires minimal overnight travel (approximately 5%). The individual should be willing to travel as necessary for E2 Optics.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) discipline.
- OSHA 501 certification and equivalent certifications such as CSP, ASP, STS-C, IOSH, or CHST.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety within a construction setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Extensive experience in inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, and safety training.

Work Environment:
The typical work environment for this position includes both an indoor office and construction settings. The role requires the ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods.

Physical demands include the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as necessary.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
