Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the RN Supervisor or Site Manager, the Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing patient care by actively engaging in the interdisciplinary care team and assisting healthcare providers in delivering essential primary care services. This role is a full-time, benefit-eligible position requiring 40 hours of work per week, typically scheduled from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Compensation:
The starting pay for this position is $17 per hour, with potential for higher compensation based on relevant experience.

Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required. Acceptable certifications include: CMA through the American Association of Medical Assistants, RMA through American Medical Technologists, CCMA through National Healthcareer Association, NCMA through National Center for Competency Testing, and NRCMA through National Association for Health Professionals.
- Proficient typing skills and familiarity with computer software systems.
- Basic Life Support/CPR training and certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients, verify and complete necessary forms, and guide patients to examination rooms.
- Measure vital signs and accurately document information in the electronic medical records system.
- Assist with examinations and procedures, ensuring necessary cleanup is performed.
- Execute provider orders, including immunizations, testing, and obtaining lab specimens, while documenting results.
- Handle patient interactions with care, especially in stressful situations.
- Collaborate effectively with both professional and paraprofessional staff.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Oversee clinic flow for assigned providers.
- Prepare patient charts for visits, maintain patient information, and assist with medical records tasks.
- Retrieve and distribute results to healthcare providers, laboratories, and medical records as directed, ensuring abnormal results are communicated to the provider.
- Request test results and referral information from other offices, updating patient charts accordingly.
- Contact patients due for services and schedule appointments.
- Ensure sterilization and cleanliness of equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
