Landscape Care Technician

Position Overview

Quantum Research International Inc is seeking a skilled Landscape Care Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of various outdoor spaces utilizing both manual and powered tools. Responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including but not limited to: sod installation, grass cutting, pruning, planting, irrigation, fertilization, excavation, debris removal, and sprinkler system setup.

  • Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, clearing pathways, repairing water features, and applying surface coatings.
  • Perform minor repairs and upkeep on equipment used in landscape maintenance.
  • Utilize pest control methods to eliminate unwanted insects such as mosquitoes, wasps, and ticks.
  • Efficiently apply fertilizers to enhance the growth of plants and lawns.
  • Safely operate hand, power, or riding mowers to trim edges around pathways, flower beds, and structures.
  • Regularly inspect grounds to maintain an aesthetically pleasing environment.
  • Willingness to learn and improve skills related to assigned tasks.
  • Ensure the grounds are free from weeds and dead vegetation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) with a preference for 2 years of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of pest management and lawn care is preferred.
  • Dependability and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Working knowledge of horticulture is a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must possess valid/legal identification; E-Verify Employer.
