KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Bilingual Family Therapy Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering Functional Family Therapy (FFT) to families. This evidence-based therapeutic approach is designed to foster positive change and strengthen familial relationships, ultimately aiming to mitigate community and interpersonal conflicts. The therapist will focus on both familial and external influences that affect the therapeutic journey.
- Manage an assigned caseload effectively.
- Conduct weekly family therapy sessions, which may be home-based, virtual, or in-office.
- Collaborate actively with the therapy team.
- Complete necessary FFT assessments.
- Guide families towards suitable services and resources.
- Deliver both clinical and practical support to families.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Engage in all required training sessions and integrate data management into practice.
- Supervise assigned Case Managers in conjunction with the Program Supervisor.
- Facilitate life skills training sessions.
- Gather data to evaluate program effectiveness alongside administrative personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Willingness to work with families in their home environments.
- Flexibility to accommodate families' schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team dynamic.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.
- Solid clinical expertise.
- Commitment to the FFT philosophy and model.
- Experience working with young adults aged 19-27 is preferred.
- Respect for cultural diversity and ability to engage reluctant families.
- Capacity to tailor interventions based on family strengths.
- Dedication to empowering families in problem-solving.
- Belief in individuals' potential for growth and change.
- Ability to establish respectful partnerships with families.
- Competence in making decisive interventions when necessary.

- Commitment to supporting marginalized communities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Master's degree in social work, counseling, mental health, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience in family and child services.
