Job Summary

We are seeking a professional who will work with other members of the design team to develop design solutions appropriate to the context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile information from reports and published documents to understand broad requirements of projects
  • Develop architectural designs to ensure an exemplary solution is delivered that meets quality parameters, project timelines, and budgetary requirements
  • Coordinate design intent with other disciplines
  • Integrate engineering requirements, site surveys, and field review information, adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
  • Prepare design reports, drawings, and models following office standards
  • Perform site visitations to determine compliance with construction documents; identify any deviations and liaise with owner and contractor to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Review project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes, and corporate quality controls

Requirements

  • Experience in all phases of the project cycle is required
  • Architectural design software skills, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and other architectural design software
  • Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes is required
  • Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
  • Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset
  • 5-7 years of project work experience
  • Experience in retail, commercial architecture
  • Project management, architectural contracts, AIA docs, specifications, maintaining project schedules, budget discretion, building client, consultant, and jurisdictional relationships, preparation of entitlements, leasing documents, permit documents, construction reports, field reports, and site surveys
