Job Summary

The Regent Aerospace Corporation seeks a highly skilled Aviation Quality Control Professional to lead our quality control efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing quality control standards, processes, and controls. This includes developing methods for inspection and training, assisting during FAA audits, customer audits, and conducting internal audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overall aspects of the manufacturing functions of facilities' Quality Control Department(s) including Receiving and Final Inspections.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
• Manage Quality Documentation Employees.
• Attend daily production meetings to keep Operations current on QC issues and to provide support as needed.
• Develop sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions for use by manufacturing to monitor and reduce variations.
• Lead teams that include customer and/or supplier representatives to identify and permanently resolve problems, and to nurture the customer co-destiny relationship (Part 121).
• Develop training and maintain proper documentation for all manufacturing employees.
• Evaluate candidates for QA/QC positions when openings occur.
• Maintain drug and alcohol abatement program.
• Proficient in FAA regulations and FARs particularly pertaining to Part 121 (Repair Stations).
• Act as ultimate point of contact to the FAA/EASA and is present at and oversees audits with Quality Managers at each site (Part 121).
• Review, approve, and maintain current revisions of the company manual (RSM).
• Submit RSM revisions to the FAA FSDO for approval.
• Ensure distribution of the revised RSM to all employees who have been assigned a controlled copy.
• Responsible for display of the Repair Station Certification and responds to requests for viewing of the Certification by the FAA or the public.
• Ensure that work accomplished outside the repair station's fixed location is performed in accordance with the RSM.
• Determine the final disposition of articles failing to meet the incoming inspection review.
• Oversee and maintain compliance of ISO and AS9100 Programs.
• Ensure proper employee training is conducted and appropriate training records are maintained.
• Maintain signature authority for maintenance release forms, Airworthiness Approval Tags, and Certificates of Compliance.
• Maintain internal audits for all manufacturing through RAC/ABS.
• Meets with customer's quality and manufacturing management to ensure a full understanding of customer needs and requirements and to identify process and product improvement opportunities.
• Leads teams that include customer and/or supplier representatives to identify and permanently resolve problems, and to nurture the customer co-destiny relationship.
• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
• Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
• Monitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes.
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred in an engineering, quality, or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• General computer and office skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word are a must.
• Seven or more years of directly related QC experience in an FAA part 145 Repair Station with manufacturing capabilities.
• Prior management experience required.
• Active participation in the successful completion of an FAA, CASE, ISO 9001, or customer audit.
• Experience in QC functions in a FAA 145 Repair Station.
• Experience in QC functions in aerospace manufacturing.
• Airframe & Powerplant License (A&P) (Airframe License acceptable).
• Knowledge of FARs.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001.
• Knowledge of JIT.
• Knowledge of project management techniques.
• Knowledge of estimating methods.
• Ability to manage business crisis.
• Ability to work under a great deal of uncertainty or unpredictability.
• Ability to create new principles.
